I love cooking and have been doing so for years, but I have to say this could be the worst cookbook ever. I keep trying to like this book and I keep trying to cook from it, but ultimately the payoff is just not there for me. I have been heavily weight-training for the past 4 months. HOWEVER, the food doesn't taste good. When I'm looking for something a little more challenging or complex for dinner, I just research recipes at [.]. Yes, the recipes are easy enough to follow and provide helpful tips for preparation. It's especially annoying since you don't have the tradeoff of super-simple recipes.
It's geared more towards the inexperienced cook or a person without a great deal of time to spend in the kitchen. As part of it, my trainer encouraged me to eat clean- the way this book does. At the same time I purchased this book, I got "Muscle Chow" by Men's Health. Some of the ingredients may be hard to find, but if you're following this type of diet those challenges come with the territory. And what's the good of a recipe book if the food in it tastes like garbage. I would recommend it over the Eat-Clean Diet book- not only are the recipes super-simple, they taste good. and modify them to be clean.
Healthy, delicious recipes. My family and I love this book, and I love the high quality wipe-clean pages with beautiful color photos of every recipe. We've even given the book as a gift.
I learned alot about just plain good eating. And the book provides wonderful recipes to help keep you on track. I lost 6 lbs in the first week.
Without a doubt - the best set of "clean" (bodybuilding/fitness industry term for nutritious) recipes I've ever seen. If you try nothing else, take the time to make the Moroccan Chicken with Lentils (if you like savory foods, this will become a favorite).
I really loved this book. I would recommend it to anyone and I have. There are so many wonderful recipies. Every dish I have made from this book has tasted wonderful. The only reason it got 4 stars is because some of the measurements for the servings was incorrect or not there at all. When trying to count calories it doesn't help to know what the serving size is but know the calories/fat/ect.
